1 Day Yangon Twante Tour

8.30 AM: Our guide picks you up at the meeting point - The Immanuel Baptist Church (next to the Mahabandoola Garden near Yangon city hall).

Then, take quick walk through the streets of Yangon to reach the riverside where we will hop on a local ferry sailing across the beautiful Yangon river. The journey only takes about 10 minutes, however, it will give you a chance to observe the colorful daily life on the bank of the river as well as to catch some spectacular photos. 

When the ferry reaches the shore, a private taxi or “dyna truck” will take you through the peaceful countryside to get to the town of Twante. The area is famous for the making of pottery, especially the huge kilns. You will have an opportunity to observe the skillful craftsmen create a product and experience it by yourself via a visit to the local factory. 

Then, your exploring trip in Twante will continue with a visit to a weaving workshop to see how they make the traditional hand bag (hee-htal).

Afterwards, we will visit Shwesandaw pagoda - one of the highest pagoda in Burma after walking about 20 minutes up on the hill. Enjoy the panoramic view of the area and the ancient ambience of the 1,000 years of history.

Seem like we have a busy morning, huh? Now, it is time to have lunch. We will eat at a local restaurant in town serving a variety of delicious dishes. You will not disappointed. Furthermore, the restaurant lies next to the local market so that you can explore around when finishing your meal.

Finally, after our guide show you some notable sites around the town, we hop on board for a trip back to Yangon. End of service.

TRIP NOTES:

- Durantion: 6 to 7 hours

- Meeting point: The Immanuel Baptist Church (next to the Mahabandoola Garden near Yangon city hall).

- Ending point: The Immanuel Baptist Church. From here, there are plenty of taxis and it will take few minutes to get to most central Yangon hotels. Your guide will be able to assist you with getting a taxi, if you like.

- Dress standard: Dress code in Myanmar is pretty strict owing to its Buddhist culture. Therefore, you should bring lightweight and long - sleeved clothes. When entering religious sites, your shoulders and knees should be covered. Furthermore, comfortable footwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a rain coat are also necessary things to pack. And always remember to check the weather before you go.

- Your Trip: Your tour will be in a small group of a maximum of 10 people.
